The ZIS-110 passenger car was not produced for long - from 1945 to 1958, after which the old cars were used as film sets. But this executive class model is considered a legend of the Soviet automobile industry. Several modifications were released on the ZIS-110 base, including for taxis and ambulances. But the main thing is that the top officials of the state drove such cars. Today, every modeler can touch the legend!
What is interesting about the ZIS-110
This is the first Soviet post-war car. But its development began long before the victory, in the winter of 1943, by order of Joseph Stalin. The commander-in-chief wanted the car to resemble the American Packard-180 in appearance, and the plant's designers managed to achieve this. Stalin reserved the first limousine of this model for himself. It was a real four-ton giant, with an armored body. The thickness of the bulletproof glass was 75 mm. Not only Stalin was driven in such limousines, Kim Il Sung loved this model. And Nikita Khrushchev preferred the ZIS-110F modification in a phaeton body.
